About Us

Howdy! Welcome to my world - my complicated and crazy world of travel and adventure. I am 61 years young and I feel for the first time in my life, I know where I’m at! The kids have flown the nest, my beloved is in another world waiting for me to join her one day, so I am grabbing life by the horns and LIVING!

I was born into quite a nomadic life, with both my parents having the love of life and the bug to travel. Both were teachers and have taught all over the world, of course with my brother and I in tow. I finally settled, after I married, in Maine and that's pretty much been my base since. Needless to say, a pretty beautiful base at that! I have been blessed with good life opportunities and ran a successful hospitality business for many years. Several years ago, my wife passed away and I knew it was time to step out of the rat race and start LIVING.

I embraced one of my life passions - travel. I have always loved experiencing other cultures, foods, places - the sights, sounds and smells - there is nothing else like it. It gives me such a ‘buzz’. I realized that this ‘buzz’ was something that I wanted to share with others. To ‘shout it from the rooftops’ about how important is to get out there and enjoy life. What better way than to start my own blog. You think that's an easy thing to do at 61? With lots of learning, patience and enthusiasm, I am finding my way. I invested in a good camera and laptop and started blogging. I figured why the heck not?!

So, my aim. To share my world. My travel stories, my health tips and advice (after all, being healthy is paramount to enjoying life), my ideas, thoughts, and what my children call - my life nonsense!

Take what you want from the information I share. After all, we all need different things at different times in our life. I hope in some small way I can make a difference with my blog, perhaps to motivate, educate or challenge you to live a life more fulfilled, happy and healthy.

Don’t look backwards….you're not going that way!
